What is Invisalign® and how does it work?
Also known as invisible brace or invisible dental retainer.
The Invisalign® system comprises a series of transparent orthodontic devices, also known as “aligners”. These make it possible to correct dental misalignments invisibly and without affecting speech. The treatment entails wearing a series of transparent aligners. They are made from thin, transparent film in accordance with specifications provided by the orthodontist using a computer-aided, high-tech process. This enables correction of the dental misalignment without wires or other devices. Depending on the initial diagnosis, the treatment will require between 12 and 50 aligners. The devices must be worn for 22 hours a day and changed every two weeks. This corrects the tooth position in steps of 0.15 to 0.25 mm per aligner until the final position specified by the orthodontist is reached.
Advantages for the patients
1. The transparent aligners make it possible to correct the tooth position almost invisibly.
4. For treatment simulation and the production of the aligners, the system uses 3D scans instead of the traditional dental impressions.
6. Thanks to the large number of treatments performed in our practice, we receive a 40–50% discount on labour costs, which we pass on to the patients.
